Tomahawk Marketing Amps Up - Hires CVB Veteran and Opens Doors to New Office

By on

New Orleans – March 2017 – Tomahawk Tourism Marketing, New Zealand’s international tourism marketing agency, continues its rapid expansion into the U.S. The company has hired Magan Adams, Certified Travel Industry Specialist and multiple CVB veteran, to take on operational and sales aspects of Tomahawk’s growing portfolio as Accounts Manager, USA.

Tomahawk’s recent expansion throughout the States is surpassing the agency’s original benchmarks, as tourism businesses nationwide have sought out their expertise. By continuing to hire within the local market and acquiring office space at New Orleans tech incubator, The Landing Zone, company founders Gina Paladini and John Hayson intend to aide the community while offering an impactful, evidenced strategy to help grow the tourism sector.

Adams will work alongside new CEO, Marica Brewster, in developing market plans for CVB’s, tourism trails, and B2C tourism businesses. She will also serve as the US lead for ResBook, Tomahawk’s robust cloud based accommodation reservation management system. Designed in 2002 specifically for boutique hotels and bed & breakfasts, ResBook has been generating buzz worldwide.

As noted by Brewster, “Magan brings along a wealth of expertise and a diverse background in the tourism sector. We look forward to how her experience adds to the team.”

Tomahawk was founded in 2007 by John Hayson, former CEO of New Zealand and Australian eCommerce company Conduit International Limited and Gina Paladini, a California native known for starting inbound tourism agency NZ Encounters, ResBook, and TourWriter, a widely-used international tourism software package. The agency’s high profile portfolio includes work with Fiji Airways, Experience Australia, Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau, and The Duke of Marlborough.

Ms. Adams brings knowledge from both the DMO and attractions area of the tourism industry, having previously worked for two Convention & Visitors Bureaus in Louisiana as well as one of the largest and most historic restaurants in New Orleans.  She received her Certified Travel Industry Specialist certification through American Bus Association’s university-sponsored program with Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis in January 2014.  She also serves as an executive board member for Mid South Women in Tourism, managing the organization’s Facebook page and event photos on their website, as well as the planning committee for their annual fundraiser, as well as the marketing committee for Louisiana Travel and Promotion Association.
